Rhenus expands global footprint
Leading international forwarding specialist Rhenus Logistics has further grown its global presence, through a series of high-profile acquisitions in Africa and North America.

Earlier this month, Rhenus announced the launch of its first network in South Africa, following its acquisition of World Net Logistics (WNL), a Johannesburg-based freight forwarding business. The takeover has enabled Rhenus to launch a series of all-new routes from South Africa to a number of neighbouring countries – significantly bolstering the freight giant’s presence on the continent.

The business has also recently confirmed a major acquisition in Canada. The merger with customised logistics solutions specialist Rodair Group is the latest milestone in Rhenus’ programme of expansion in North America. With a network of facilities spanning Toronto, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver, the newly-formed partnership will see Rhenus deliver a full-suite of logistics services to businesses across the retail, automotive, pharmaceutical and mining industries.

David Williams, managing director of Rhenus Logistics in the UK, commented: “The launch of new routes in North America and Africa crown a busy and exciting start to the year for Rhenus. Partnering with WNL and Rodair not only provides us with greater access than ever before to key, target regions, but also enables us to provide our industry expertise to wider-than-ever-before pool of businesses.”
