TSC’s New Year Starts with General Management Appointments
Amine Soubai has been named Managing Director of TSC Auto ID Technology EMEA GmbH effective January 2018. His primary task will be uniting sales and marketing activities of TSC and Printronix Auto ID. He follows in the footsteps of Ladislav Sloup, who contributed significantly to the success of TSC’s printer and semiconductor divisions and shaped the company’s positive development for nearly twenty years. TSC also announces a further appointment in January. Ralf Welter will assume the position of Managing Director of Taiwan Semiconductor Europe GmbH, sister company of TSC Auto ID, situated in Zorneding near Munich, Germany.

Amine Soubai now heads the GmbH and the two brands TSC and Printronix Auto ID. The labelling and identification expert now leads one of the Top 5 global manufacturers of reliable and innovative thermal printers. Since January 2016, Soubai worked as Director EMEA at Printronix Thermo/AICD, acquired by TSC Auto ID in January 2016. Before that, he was Regional Sales Manager DACH & Northern Europe.

Soubai brings more than 20 years’ experience in managing sales and marketing departments, accumulated in an impressive career at global printer and IT organisations. Prior to his activity at Printronix Auto ID, he held the position as PAN European and Global Account Sales Manager at Toshiba TEC Europe and before that, as Sales Development Manager at American company Electronics for Imaging (EFI). The Auto-ID specialist laid the foundations for his career studying Informatics at the University of Applied Sciences in Krefeld, Germany, graduating as an engineer. Soubai is fluent in German, English, French and Arabic.

Amine Soubai briefly outlines his first objectives “My primary task as Managing Director will be to merge the two brands Printronix Auto ID and TSC. The expansion of our diverse portfolio and continuing TSC’s excellent service quality will remain on the agenda. Adapting our sales organisation to meet current and upcoming market and customer needs, well supported by professional marketing activities and campaigns will be another strategic focus for the coming years”.

The experienced manager looks forward with pleasure to his new assignment, introducing the skills gained in various demanding jobs. He is well aware of the challenges he faces in his new role but he highlights that TSC is an extremely successful and well-established manufacturer that is repeatedly setting new standards in the global AIDC industry. Amine Soubai recognises and is grateful that “Michael Sloup and his father Ladislav Sloup, working hand in hand with TSCs President Sam Wang have catapulted our group to a lead position in the thermal printer market. Prior to that, with Arthur Wang, TSC’s founder and long-time esteemed companion of Ladislav Sloup with farsightedness, inventiveness and entrepreneurial ability. They built a solid and consistent business policy and important alliances with strategically advantageous partnerships. I am absolutely determined to shape the future successfully by using all of my experience and knowledge as well as creating fresh momentum for growth and competitiveness. For all customers and suppliers as well as distributors, reseller and partners, we still want to be a loyal, competent and reliable partner.”

Since the foundation of the printer division in 1991 and the formation of TSC Auto ID Technology as an independent company with its own headquarters in Germany, TSC has developed as one of the leading manufacturers of durable, powerful and innovative direct thermal and thermal transfer printers including a wide range of supplies and services. Today the product portfolio includes high-performance industrial printers, compact desktop and economic entry-level models and flexible, easy to use mobile devices in different sizes and classes for all industries. TSC Auto ID develops and produces its printers in its own certified factories in Taiwan and China. Around 450 people are working for the group, showing great personal commitment and loyalty, supporting all channel partners around the world with an excellent service.

The Semiconductor Division is also on a growth course
Taiwan Semiconductor Europe GmbH also starts the New Year with an important personnel development. From January 2018, Ralf Welter is responsible as Managing Director at the European Headquarters.

The experienced Welter has worked for the company for 12 years, originally as Sales Manager and as Sales Director responsible for sales activities throughout Europe since 2012. His professional career has also included important positions such as Account Executive at Tyco Electronics/EloTouch Systems as well as Senior Sales Engineer at General Semiconductor.

Ralf Welter is looking forward to the upcoming challenges. He is relatively relaxed, mainly because “our company is ideally positioned for the task ahead and in prime position to continue progression.” He then added: “In recent years the positive economic climate, especially in Europe, has allowed us to systematically expand our strong position in the growing market for our reliable, innovative and proven solutions. We are aiming for double-digit sales growth for all business divisions.”

Founded in 1979, TSC Semiconductor Co., Ltd. specialises in diodes, bridge rectifiers, MOSFETs and LED drivers. The main markets are automotive, consumer, industry and lighting. As a respected industry insider, Ralf Welter sees great potential in the area of Automotive. The emphasis of his work as new Managing Director will be focused “on the expansion of the business unit that, in our global organisation structure, was established in 2017. Under the direction of Alexander Nather, only two employees are active in Europe but we will expand significantly our talented team during the next two years.”

The company now employs 1,800 people worldwide. As with TSC Auto ID, the Semiconductor division develops and produces its high-quality products in its own factories at four production sites across China and Taiwan. TSC’s headquarters in Europe were established in 2002.

Ladislav Sloup will remain on the board of management but after 16 successful years with TSC he is delegating more activities and operations to the next generation. Establishing follow-up regulations was a matter dear to his heart. “The decision was not taken lightly. I can look back on many very successful and exciting years and I am convinced that both GmbHs remain in good hands. Both Amine Soubai and Ralf Welter have proven their expertise in the business. I am confident they will reinforce efforts and will respect the spirit that made both companies so strong. They bring renewed vigour to our company, will send positive energy and create innovative ideas. They will continue to expand TSC’s versatile portfolio and supervise the development and well being of all our employees.”

Together with his new colleagues in TSCs top management level, his long time companions and his highly esteemed colleagues, Ladislav Sloup will continue the success story of the TSC Group, at least for a near future.
